An introductory information session for businesses that are expanding to Calgary, this presentation emphasizes the importance of protecting intellectual property in Canada and a global marketplace.  The presenters from Bennett Jones LLP, Martin Kratz, QC, Intellectual Property Head, and Bonnie Headley, Trademark Agent, will provide suggestions for companies locating to Canada.  In particular, Martin and Bonnie will discuss the various forms of intellectual property, what steps are necessary to protect IP in Canada, common pitfalls that should be avoided, as well as provide an overview of the protection process and the international conventions and treaties that are in place to assist rights' holders in obtaining intellectual property protection internationally.
